I am very proud of medical student Jil Frank, who published her first paper. Jil validated a new computer model that let us analyze different scenarios after #VertebralBodyTethering for #scoliosis. In her first paper of a series of papers, the Ortho Residency applicant analyzed the influence of screw positioning on tether forces and motion.I am very proud to be able to work with such a talented person and I am convinced that Jil Frank will have a major impact on scoliosis research in the next years.Full paper with open access:https://lnkd.in/epwXJgRC

In recent years, we have observed numerous clinical cases on social media where diagnoses and decisions were made solely based on CBCT scans. We cannot remain confined to academic theory; our goal is to prevent mistakes in real-life clinical situations. I have personally received many inquiries accompanied only by CBCT scans, requesting suitable treatment options. This research aims to address these widespread errors in clinical practices globally.Take a lookhttps://lnkd.in/dSvv_bPm

I'm pleased to be able to share this paper from the Journal of Clinical Medicine entitled "Safety, efficacy, and visual performance of an orthokeratology lens with increased compression factor (ICF)", which evaluates the 3-month results of orthokeratological treatment of myopia with the Alexa AR lens. The study concluded, "...correcting myopia with ortho-k #contactlenses with an ICF of 1.25 D (Alexa AR) provides good safety, efficacy, and visual performance in a 3-month follow-up. Seven days of ortho-k wear are enough to achieve the full refractive compensation, resulting in subsequent satisfactory visual acuity."Those in the UK interested in finding out more about this excellent lens should contact Positive Impact and can read the paper here.https://lnkd.in/gYP8rJxdTIEDRA FARMACÉUTICA Alvaro García de Tiedra Phil Thompson FBDO CL MBCLA Nick Howard Tony Whyatt Maxine (Max) Green Paul Humphries
